Today would have been my Dad’s Monty Knights 81st birthday 💛
There aren’t really words for how much we miss him. Losing him the way we did has been devastating for our family, and not a day goes by that we don’t feel that loss. But today, more than anything, we remember the incredible man he was — strong, hardworking, and deeply connected to our community here in Kaitaia.
Dad spent much of his life in business, continuing a legacy that began with his parents back in 1931. That legacy lives on. I’m so proud to now be carrying it forward, alongside our amazing team, with both our Kaitaia store and our sister store in Kerikeri. This year marks 95 years of our family business — something he was so proud of.
To celebrate this milestone in July, we’ll be bringing back something very special… our much-loved “Pop a Prize” Event🎈 Many of you might remember it — I found this old photo aprox 15 years ago of Dad and I presenting a major prize. We can’t wait to share that fun with you again.
For now, today is about you Dad. Happy birthday — we love you always
